Services & Rates

Jems are an introductory personal service who will find you a suitable, caring and compassionate companion to stay with you in your home.

We can offer a companion for a minimum of 1 hour, weekend or weekly placements as well as anything up to a year.
Whatever your needs are, we will do our best to accommodate you.

We interview all our companions, thoroughly check their references and their up to date criminal records check (DBS).

We will only recommend a companion to you if we would be happy for them to live with our relatives. Our companions can be of any nationality, but will have a good understanding and verbal command of the English language.

We will discuss your exact requirements and will remain in touch to make sure everything is satisfactory and you are happy with your companion.

All companions who are living-in should be provided with their own bedroom and receive meals as part of their role. If they are staying for more than 2 weeks then they will need to have 2 days off a week where they are not expected to be resident.

They will not be expected to provide physical care but can give prompts if you need reminding.

If you require a driver, you will need to add them to your insurance.

Your companion is a guest in your house and we expect there to be a mutual respect in your relationship.

As they are self employed, Companions set their own rates depending on their experience and the needs of the host.

The following are only suggestive figures:

Hourly rates £12- £15
Full day  £80 - £120
Weekend  £200 - £250
Weekly  £400 - £450

Jems Companions charges the Host a one off placement fee of £250 for a non live in companion or £500 for a live in companion.
This is only charged on commencement of a placement.
There are no hidden extra costs or commission.
